Guidance & Prayer for Final Exam Preparation

Work hard:
Hard work always rewards. Are you able to focus on your studies? Are you able to fully devout yourselves for study? God wants you to study whole heatedly. Sometime you study because your mom asks you to do so. Sometime you try to study, but your mind is somewhere else. God says, if you study hard, you will get the reward.
Colossians 3:23-24 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

You need to prepare well, but the victory comes from the Lord:
Sometime you may think that before the exam if I pray everything will be alright. God is going to take care of everything why should I study then? You may also feel so low about you. Whatever I study it is not resting in my mind, I forget everything. What is the point in studying. But Bible says, Proverbs 21:31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But victory is of the Lord. It is your responsibility to study; giving you good score is that of God.

Do not worry:
Worry is not going to help. By worrying you cannot add 5 marks to your final score. Worry is going to discourage you further and going to cause health issues to you that you feel fully sick on the day of the exam. Instead, God wants you to pray about it. Once you pray to God and seek for His help in your preparation, He will give you peace. He will give you strength and courage to face the challenge. If your heart is so heavy when you think about the examination, God is asking you to lay every weight at His feet. Bible says in Philippians 4:6-7 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Focus on the Lord:
God wants you to set your focus on Him. As you prepare for your examination, there may be so many distractions on your way. Someone may come and tell you, the question paper is going to be tough. Someone else may say that questions are going to be there only from the last five chapters. Someone else may say that, they are going to postpone the science exam. These are distractions to your study. God is telling you to keep the Lord before you. When you have God in front of you always, nothing is going to shake you. You will get the job done easily. Psalm 16:8 8 I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

Trust in the Lord:
It is quite natural that you may be afraid of your examination. Fear of facing the exam may attack you at times. Fear is not from God. Fear is from your flesh. You don’t have any reason to be afraid of the exam. The only way to cast fear out is to trust in God. The more you trust in God, the more you feel relaxed on the day of the examination.
Psalm 56:3-4 3 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. 4 In God , In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?

Don’t depend on your abilities:
Sometime you may think that I studied everything. I know everything. I am ready to face the exam as I have prepared really well. But Bible teaches not to depend on our abilities; instead it is asking us to trust in God. Trust in God, wait for His instruction, acknowledge God in every situation. Then, we will see everything going well. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Pray to God:
Bible is repeatedly asking you to ask God for wisdom. We all lack wisdom. We need to ask God for wisdom. It is God who makes one wise. You need wisdom to understand the questions. You need wisdom to write the answers correctly. The presentation, content, explanation, handwriting, grammar, spelling everything is important. You need wisdom. Can you ask God for wisdom?
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Look for His instruction and guidance:
As you walk into the examination hall, keep your mind calm by keep trusting God. God says I will instruct you and teach you. Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Keep listening for God’s instructions and guidance. You will see God giving you ideas and directing your mind to present the correct answer to the questions.

Prayer: Dear God, I have come to you as I prepare for my examination. I know that you are the ultimate source of wisdom. I can’t do anything without you. Dear Father, I want you to bless my preparation. I surrender all of my preparation in to your hands. I realize that victory can come only from you. I ask you for wisdom. I ask you for good memory. I ask you for good health. I want you to walk into the examination hall and hold my hands as I write the answer for each question. Lord, give me good marks. Help me to pass the exam with good score. I will continue to live for your glory. Please remove any unbelief I may have. Remove any fear I may have. I ask all these in Jesus name. Amen.
