Thought for the day Archive

Verse of the day: Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Thought for the day: It is not just the valley; it is the valley of the shadow of death. There is a possibility of losing life. It is not a safe place to be as there is evil around. Many of us are challenged to walk through such valley in our lifetime on this earth. It may not last for long, but may be for a moment. David seems to be crossing this valley with a song in His mouth. He felt the fear being lifted away and the protection of the Lord coming upon him. It must be the walk of faith. You may not understand how it is, but will realize the awesome protection of the Lord once you cross over it.

Verse of the day: Mark 10:51 So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”

Thought for the day: It was a specific question from Jesus and a specific answer by the blind Bartimaeus. The expectation of that blind man was to receive his eye sight. There was nothing else precious for him that day than his eye sight. Many blessings are not experienced by us today as our eyes are blind folded by ignorance, cares of the world, wrong teachings and by the enemy himself. We need our eyes opened to see scripture as scripture. Is there anything else the most needed than the specific revelation of God that has the solution for our future?

Verse of the day: Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Thought for the day: God created man in His own image. What an amazing fact it is! Not even angels were given that privilege. Many of us complain about our appearance, structure, skin color, hair color, abilities, etc. We need to go and have a look into the mirror. What we see there is the image of God. When we realize this fact, we will start thanking Him for creating us in a wonderful way.

Verse of the day: 1 Corinthians 7:23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.

Thought for the day: Some of us still don’t realize that we were already purchased at a price. We are no more slaves. It is true that once we were slaves of men, but not anymore. Jesus paid it all. We are called to be the slaves of Christ Jesus. But if we continue to live under the bondage of men, we don’t enjoy the freedom Christ has bought us. Are we afraid of men? We don’t need to be afraid of men as we are no more slaves of him. Today, what kind of influence men and women have in your life? Either good or bad, don’t allow men or women to influence your life, just obey where you need to, love where you need to according to Bible, nothing more than that. 100% you belong to Christ. Remember you are SOLD.

Verse of the day: Psalm 52:8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.

Thought for the day: The possible lifespan of olive trees are up to 2,000 years, individual olive trees have seen not only generations, but entire kingdoms, come and go on the earth’s surface. When many other trees have died, the olive tree has always been amongst the few survivors. Olive trees are able to withstand the battering of storms, salt water, heat and cold, and appear green throughout.

David’s contemplation is that those who trust in the mercy of God are like a green olive tree planted in the house of God. The life that we started in Christ one day remains green forever, never changes due to conditions around and within us, as long as we trust in the mercy of God.
