Thought for the day Archive

Verse of the day: Proverbs 13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.

Thought for the day: You might have dealt with disappointments already in your life or you may be dealing with it right now. The situation might have been overwhelming and dreadful as you don’t find the end of it. You are not just crushed with what is currently going on, but you are overpowered with the fear of what is going to happen in the near future. You are shocked by what had just happened to you, but there is another one waiting right at the door on your way to escape. It is true with the tsunami hit survivors. Their survival is not the end of it. The struggle starts now. Their loved ones and friends are still found to be missing. Struck with the scarcity of basic necessities such as water, food, heating and sanitation. The nuclear threat has been always in the air. Their hope is really deferred now. But not completely lost. The reason they are survived is to live. Still hold on what you are already holding on. One day when hope comes true, it will be like a tree of life.

Verse of the day: Mark 10:9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Thought for the day: These are not the words of a revolutionist; these are the words of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. If you believe that God has brought you together, He doesn’t want you to separate. Not only that, He clearly states that no one has any right to separate someone else. Do you know that divorce is not allowed according to the Bible? The only exception is when sexually immorality is involved and that too God expects us to pray about and bring healing in our marriage. Divorce is not an emergency exit of the marriage. Enemy has already done enough damage to the marriage system. He has already brought the legal systems under his control. People want to live together but not willing to commit to each other. What kind of commitments such families can have towards God? How God can fulfill His purpose on earth with such uncommitted couples? God will make the spiritual leaders accountable for covering the Biblical truths of marriage under the blanket of culture and favoritism as they are afraid of people leaving them.

Verse of the day: Matthew 25:13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

Thought for the day: The recent disasters reported from all around the world and the events that are predicted such as “poleshift”, “supermoon” cause tremendous amount of fear among people today. News media delivers 24 x 7 coverage on such disasters. Sermons on second coming are heard in churches and through television channels than ever before. Let us remember some of the Biblical facts concerning these events.
• Jesus is coming soon.
• These are the signs of the times and the end of the age.
• No one knows the day and the hour in which the Son of Man is going to come.
• Every minute is precious and we cannot afford to continue living in sin.
• Sin will not enter into heaven.
• Be prepared either to face our death or the coming of the Lord whichever occurs first.
Following may be the most appropriate quote in this situation. “Prepare as if Jesus is coming tonight and plan as if Jesus is not coming in your lifetime”.

Verse of the day: Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?

Thought for the day: A mom took her little girl to the church where Passion of Christ was screened. The little girl was so deeply involved in the sequence of events and was so moved seeing the sufferings of Christ. Jesus was falling down as He couldn’t carry the heavy cross on Him. Suddenly this little girl stood up and shouted, “Jesus… I will call my dad he is strong enough to carry the cross for you”. All that she knew for strength was her dad and according to her assumption, her dad can do pretty much anything. Many times we forget the fact that He is our God. He has to remind us of His strength, His care and His availability for us. Today what are you challenged with? Your situation doesn’t alter the fact that nothing is too hard for God. Be like that little girl, ready to reach out for help to the one who is able.

Verse of the day: Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Thought for the day: Is gathering of Saints worship? Is singing few songs worship? Is stirring up emotions with few strumming patterns worship? Is dancing an acceptable form of worship? Can we worship with no music instruments? Is worship a mechanism to please God and turn Him in our own way? Should we follow a proper worship expression? How does the worship look to other people? Where should we worship? What songs do we sing during worship? Is it important who leads the worship? Is worship a waste of time? These are some of the questions in many of our mind and every Sunday we struggle through it. By going through the motions out of obligation we fail to understand the real meaning of worship. Is it not an inward devotion to the Lord that overflows and comes out through our action? Is it not renewing of our mind than the emotions and goose bumps? Is to obey not better than our lip sacrifice? Is it not better to present the members of our body as instruments of righteousness to God than going through the motions of worship? The inward aspects of worship are primary, the outward expressions are secondary.
