Thought for the day Archive

Verse of the day: John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.

Thought for the day: When destruction strikes us, the immediate reaction is to question God. Why did God allow such disaster? Why God has to take away innocent lives in a cruel manner? Where is His mercy? Does He really care for me? Some of us even take atheistic approach and say, there is no God and this is nothing to do with God and everything happened due to the carelessness of individuals or the course of nature. We may even give philosophical explanation based on Murphy’s Law: If something can go wrong, it will. But all of us fail to recognize the master mind behind all these disasters and destructions. Word of God clearly says, “The devil has come to kill and destroy”. My friend, you may believe in the power of God, better believe the power of Satan too. Try to know his tricks, if not, you will fail to recognize his works. Never under estimate his destructive nature. Whether we go seeking after the presence of God or not, Job 1:6 says, Satan is standing in the presence of God accusing God’s children. Only weapon that overpowers him from manifesting his power is the knees of the saints. Failing to do so will fulfill his plan to wipe of the children of God from the face of the earth.

Verse of the day: James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

Thought for the day: Not everyone understood this fact behind the success of great men and women. We have seen a little thorny plant shoots out and grows faster than the rest of the plants. We have seen weed growing out in the field and be seen tall among the rest. In a vast dry land, only tall palm trees stay green as if streams running everywhere. Even though these noticeable growths are attributed to various reasons, when God lift someone up, he is seen by everyone and marveled. Do you think you got twisted and mangled in the challenges of life? Humble yourself before the Lord, He will take you out of the issues you are dealing with and make your life straight.

Verse of the day: Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Thought for the day: Do you know that an average person has only 24,000 (approx.) days to live in this earth? Do you know that the day just got over will never come again? Do you know that it will be another day, just like today, will be our last day on earth? Do you know once we leave this earth, we will never be here again to live? Do you know the people you see today may never be seen again? Oh…how fragile man’s life is on earth and how precious each day is. We cannot afford to let go even a single day during our lifetime without experiencing the fullness of it. Do you know, worry and especially worry about tomorrow, kill your day and night? Husband and wife, children and parents go to bed yelling at each other, murmuring against God, wetting their pillows with tears due to worries and concerns related to tomorrow. God is telling you, do not worry about tomorrow. God, who wakes you up in the morning, will make you sleep again in the night. Give the next day in His hand, praise Him for keeping you alive till the end of the day. Go to sleep not with grumbling lips, but with grateful lips.

Verse of the day: Isaiah 43:1 But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “ Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine”.

Thought for the day: Name gives identity. Not a stranger, only a person who knows you can call you by name. What a significance it gives if the President or Prime Minister walks next to you and calls you by name! How much more it will be when your heavenly Father himself calling you by name? Does God know the names of all the people on the earth? Even if He knows, is He going to call everyone by name? I don’t think so. Certainly He has called by name those who are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. How can He forget the names that are written in the Book of Life? If your name is found in the Book of Life, Jesus has not just called call you by name, He is going to confess your name before His Father and before His angels, Revelation 3:5. What a privilege and honor it is! More than anything else, it is important that your name is written in the Book of Life.

Verse of the day: Matthew 6:19-20 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Thought for the day: The world today is mo…ving in such a pace that no one has time to listen to anyone or to serve anyone. Time is money. No one is willing to spend even an hour for a cause that is not resulting in dollar. How to earn and where to invest are the common questions in every mind. Fraud investment companies, decline in stock markets, banks declaring bankruptcy or thieves breaking in and stealing, nothing can stop from investing. Many work for more than eight hours, work in more than one job, may not even worry about their health and won’t even spend enough money for their family. They do all these to invest more in the stock markets, to buy more than one house, to start their own business, to build bungalows and recreation centers, clubs, hotels, etc. What is wrong in doing all these? No, Nothing. All these are the result of their hard work. See the precious words of our Lord Jesus Christ, asking us not to store treasures on earth. Wondering what sense these words make to them. He is telling us not to invest on earth, but to invest in heaven. How can anyone carry all the wealth into heaven? The only wealth we can carry into heaven is souls. Jesus is asking us to invest our earnings apart from what is required for our daily living into such schemes that will bring souls into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Remember Jesus is talking about money that is stored up on earth without any heavenly benefit.
