Thought for the day Archive

Verse of the day: Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise.

Thought for the day: A farmer toils on the ground all through the season hoping that he will reap the harvest one day. A single mom who takes care of her two little boys works hard day and night hoping that one day they will have a decent living. A sculptor who chisels without fainting hopes that one day the marble will become part of the beautiful monument. Today, if you are walking in righteousness before God, He has promised you the tree of eternal life, the everlasting life with God. The blessed, the most desirable, the highest attainable position of living with God almighty cannot be attained by our works, but by walking with a pure heart in front of God. We need to be wise in introducing our fellow travelers on this land to the place where we are prepared to go. It is not only our family and our church; God is equally concerned about all those who are lost in this world. Freely we have received, let us freely give.

Verse of the day: 1 John 4:3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

Thought for the day: Bible clearly teaches that many false prophets have gone out into the world. If we don’t know how to identify them, we will be easily deceived. How to identify false prophets and false teachers? By knowing the spirit with which they operate. Every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ is God is not of God. In other words, every prophet or teacher who seeks glory for themselves is not of God. It is the spirit of Antichrist. How do we find that out? It is easy. Carefully listen to what they speak, observe how they behave, find out their attitude towards popularity, money, lifestyle, etc. In all these, if Christ is not at the center and if Christ is not exalted it is 100% evident that they are false prophets and false teachers. It really doesn’t matter how accurate their prophecies are and how deep and inspiring their teachings are.

Verse of the day: Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Thought for the day: Many of us are tired and sick of unanswered prayers. Without hesitation we say that we received nothing after praying for so many years. But we never realized an important aspect of prayer. Until now, we have been asking. God wants us to seek His ways. We have been asking God while going in our own ways. As our ways are not His ways, He wants us to seek His ways. We need to go back to the Bible as His Words are the lamp and the light. Meditate His Words day and night. We may be even seeking God and still complaining that our prayers are not answered. God wants us to knock His door. He wants us to be aggressive in our asking and seeking. Answers for certain prayers don’t come by asking and seeking, we need to wrestle with God. Certain bondages are broken only by fasting and praying in spirit. Certain doors are locked from inside, we need to focus our effort in prayer and strike against the door to break it open. Ask, seek and knock.

Verse of the day: Hebrews 11:33-34 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Thought for the day: A matchstick once ignited, lasts for few seconds and turns into ashes. The longest known burn time of a single safety matchstick is over 50 seconds. The effective use of the match within the short lifetime depends on how it is used. It has a potential within it even to set a forest into fire. But most of the time it is used to lit a cigarette and thrown into the ash tray. The life God has given us is very precious. It has a potential within it to achieve greater heights. Men and women of God have achieved greater things for God during this single and short lifetime. It all depends in what way we make use of it. We may regret that already it is half burned or three fourth of it is burned. But even with the little remaining, you can kindle a forest fire. Set yourself on fire for Jesus!!!

Verse of the day: 1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Thought for the day: Most of us have scars in our body caused by a cut or wound in our childhood. Some of the diseases such as chickenpox leave scar in our body. When someone asks about the scar we start telling a big story on how that happened. Every time we see the mirror we remember what had happened years ago. As Christ was wounded we could see stripes all over His body. Even some of the scars were seen in His resurrected body as seen by the disciples. How do these stripes and wounds heal us today? When we pray for healing, all that we picture is the wounded body of Christ. But these stripes take us back to the cause of the suffering and pain He endured on the cross. Healing is released once we believe that He took all the sickness, pain and sorrow on Himself and we carry them no more in our body. Sins are forgiven once we believe that He carried the burden of sin on Himself and we are no more under the slavery of sin.
